How to take a desktop snapshot with your PC?

Taking a snapshot of your desktop can be useful in many different ways. It is a great feature for troubleshooting computer problems because you can send in a picture of your screen to Microsoft. It is also a great way to quickly save a favorite picture from a website that cannot be saved any other way. You can follow a few easy steps to take a full desktop snapshot of your computer screen. Follow the followings.. 

  • Hold down the 'Alt' button and press the 'Print Screen SysRq' button on your keyboard. This will take a hidden snapshot of your desktop. On a laptop, you may have to hold down the 'Fn' key and press 'Print Screen SysRq'.

  •  Click on the 'Start' button on your Taskbar.

  • Click on 'All Programs', then click on 'Accessories'.

  • Click on 'MS Paint' to open the Paint program.

  • Hold down the 'Ctrl' button and press the 'v' botton on your keyboard to paste the snapshot of your desktop in Paint.

  • Now, click on 'File' near the top left corner of the Paint program. Scroll down to 'Save As'. This will open the Save As window. Give the title of the image and click 'OK'.

FLV Source Filter Pop-up error‏

I encountered the problem that a pop-up appears with the title "FLV Source Filter" with some information on it (as below picture) and then it goes to not responding state and sometimes hang the system. I tried my best and do the following things to solve that problem.



If you have installed SWISH Video in the past (the filter can be installed as an adjunct to that application), you will find the FLV filter listed in your software list in 'Add/Remove Software' on your control panel, and it can be removed from there (look for SWISHzone.com FLV Filter).

If you have never installed SWISH Video product, it is likely you have downloaded and installed the filter from a codec pack on the internet somewhere. So if you cannot locate it in your software list in 'Add/Remove Software' on your control panel, search for the file - "FLV.ax"  and delete it.

  2. Write good articles or free reports for other webmasters to publish and put your website address in the by-line. If you can write good content, your articles will be published and a lot of readers who like your article will start using your website.
  3. Start exchanging Links with Other Webmasters. This is the very effective strategy to generate targeted traffic to your website free of cost. It involves contacting other webmasters for a probable link exchange partnership.
  4. Submit your website/blog address to different blog search sites and directories. You can submit your website/blog’s URL to websites such as Dmoz, Technorati, Blogdex, Popdex and Daypop etc.
  5. Start creating RSS feeds for your website/blogs and submit the feed URLs to the major RSS feed directories online.
  6. Arrange Joint Venture partnership with Webmasters and List owners.
  7. Add your ad or website address to your own email signature. Thus, each time you send an email, you’ll promote your own website.
  8. Add your website/blog on ping weblogs.com and the other search engines. Pinging your website/blogs to the search engines is the fastest and surest way to get the search engine robots to visit your blog and attract a number of new visitors to your website/blogs regularly.
  9. Become an active commenter. Try to leave your comments on the blogs that you visit regularly. Most of the comment systems also provide a way for you to leave a link back to your blog or website which begs a visit at the very least.
  10. If you decide to have anything printed up, give your web address on it. You can print your URL on business cards, leaflets, stickers etc.
