Without shutting down, sometimes you need to move quickly away from your computer. But there are other people/ children near by your computer. Then how to keep them not to touch your computer? Only one way....Lock it. Well, you'll do that only if you have a shortcut on desktop to lock your computer's desktop and keyboard. Just double-click on shortcut. So, here's how you'll make that shortcut.

• Right click on desktop.Select "New" > "Shortcut".
• "Create Shortcut Wizard" will opened.
• In text field, type "rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation".
• Now click on 'Next'.Then name your shortcut as you like.Click on 'Finish'.

Now, you have a shortcut to lock your desktop and keyboard. Let's change it's icon as follows:-

• Right-click on shortcut.
• Choose "Properties".
• Click on "Shortcut" card.
• Click "Change Icon".
• In "Look for icons in this file" field, type "Shell32.dll".
• Click on OK.
• Choose best icon from list and click on OK.

• Click on Start button then type 'gpedit.msc' in Run option and click on OK.
• Then click User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Control Panel>Display
• On right side, double click on 'Prevent Changing Wallpaper'.
• Then choose Enabled, and apply.
• Now you'll be unable to change the wallpaper anymore by using this trick, if you want to return it to default condition simply repeat above trick but now choose 'Not Configured' instead of Enabled option.

• Right-click the taskbar.
• Click on Properties.
• Check Auto-hide the taskbar and press OK.

Note:- If you want to display the taskbar, just put the mouse pointer on the hidden taskbar or press the Windows button on the keyboard.

• Right click on an empty space on the Task bar and then click on Properties.
• Click on the Start Menu tab.
• Click the active Customize button.
  - If you’re using the Classic Start Menu, select Expand Control Panel and Expand Network Connections.
  - If you’re using the Standard Start Menu, in the Control Panel section select Display as a menu. Network Connections sadly doesn’t obey the same behaviours here, but you can do the next best thing and set it to link to the right place – under the Network Connections section, select Link to Network Connections folder.
• Click OK, then OK again to effect the changes. There are plenty of other options here, so feel free to prod around.

• Click Start button and type "regedit" in Run option then press Enter.
• Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
• On the right window of registry editor, right-click the empty space and make 'New-DWORD Value' and give the value name "StartMenuLogOff".
• Right-click the new key you've made and select Modify.
• On the Value Data give the value "1" to hide the button and press OK.
• Then restart your computer.

• First of all to create a new shortcut, right click on any empty area of your desktop and go to New then Shortcut.
• Now a small windows dialog box will appear with the title “Create Shortcut”. Then in that box type the following command.
• Shutdown –r –t 30
  Note:- Here t 30 means time in second, for example it you want your computer will restart automatically after half minute them the command will be shutdown –r –t 30. But it you want your computer will restart without any countdown then type command them type command as shutdown –r –t 00.
• Click Next button to type the name of this shortcut and press Finish to close it.
• At the end, when you click on restart icon, a windows dialog box will appear with the information-“This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated cy Administrator.”
• This command starts a 30 second countdown for restart, which permits you to abort it with a shutdown –a command.
