How to disable the unread email notification in XP?

  • Click Start button and type “regedit” in Run option then press Enter.
  • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail
  • In right side panel, double click on 'MessageExpiryDays' and set its value '0'.
  • If MessageExpiryDays key doesn’t exist, then in right side panel, click right to create a key with the name 'MessageExpiryDays' and then set its value '0'.
  • Now restart your computer.
